NÜKHET BARLAS
Nukhet Barlas is a free-lance senior environmental consultant. She has a BS degree in industrial engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, and an MS degree in environmental science from Miami üniversity in Oxford, Ohio. After 14 years of graduate study and work in Atlanta and Cincinnati, she now lives in Istanbul with her husband and son. In Turkey, she also served as a board member of a leading conservation society for 6 years.
Her articles concerning environmental issues are published in Turkish newspapers. Her short story Abyssinian appeared in Bewildering Stories e-magazine issue 345. Her story book for older children, Earth Stories is published by lulu.com.
She is also a hobby photographer. She has published a few cat calenders. Cats of Istanbul agenda/notebook received coverage in Turkish media.
